10 Nov Our New President…
When I woke up on November 8th, 2016, I felt confident that the next president of the United States of America would not be Donald Trump.
I am a person of good judgement and solid common sense. I thought that all of the things that Trump said were reasons to NOT vote for him. I did not hear a single argument or point that provoked any thought for me to vote for him. To be honest, I thought he debated himself out of the race. I guess I was wrong. As were all of the experts.
As I woke up on today, November 9th, 2016, I was still confident that Clinton would somehow come back from losing a few states and winning the Presidential Election. Then my wife told me Trump won and I was in disbelief. I was in more disbelief by the fact that more people voted for him considering all of the things he had said, than the fact that he was actually president.
Trump proved everyone wrong. He won. I hope he proves, even more people wrong and does a great job in office. I think it would be fair to say that we, as the people, need to trust that he will do the best he can for OUR sake. America is not a dictatorship. He still has to go through other people to pass bills or enforce some of the stuff he spoke about. With the glass half empty and full pessimism, we will grow into a country full of fear and doubt.
Regardless of who is in office, it is up to us individually to be the best we can be in order to make America better than what it is today. Be the best version of yourself. Be nice to people. Hold the door open for people and say please and thank you. I never really found it to be hard to nice…but I guess for some people they just need a reminder.
