Livin’ The Dream

For as long as I can remember when someone has asked me “How are you?”, I have been responding with one of two things.  Either it has been “Livin’ the dream!” or “Having the best day of my life.”.  I say that to say that life is full of choices.  Every day, people have the chance to make the most of their day.  Make the most of each day, and I am pretty sure that you are going to like the type of life you have lived.

I can’t remember where I hear this from, but someone said you can be a thermostat or a thermometer.  I didn’t get it at first.  I had to really think about it found it really useful as I go through my day.  One one side, the thermometer reads the temperature and the thermostat sets the temperature.  Even in the worst scenarios, I don’t want to be the thermometer.  I don’t want people, or things or incidences impact my day or my well being.  I want to control it.  I want to set the temperature with positivity and optimism and rally others around me.

Life is hard enough as it is.  It is a lot easier to worry about what you CAN control, then to worry about everything that might control you.

So the next time someone asks you “How are you?” or “How is your day going?”, don’t hesitate to say “Livin’ the dream”.  Positive enthusiasm is contagious and those three words won’t only have an impact on your state of being, but they may also have a profound impact on that person’s day.

Live the Dream!
